I was wondering if you can help me to identify a certain model: it was featured in a 1990 Japanese live action series called "Winspector", here you can see a clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEjJLFFzZLI&feature=related (jump at the 7:30 minute mark)
Also, how much do these models sell for on the used market?
Would it be street legal to modify it to look like the one in the show?
Thanks for your help!

There's really no telling what year it is exactly. The mods are too much and they're all mostly the same around those years. They're cheap to find. You can get one for about $500 or less running. The mods look to be Z28 or IROC parts. Everything but the lightbar looks street legal to me.

That is a 3rd generation Camaro. (82-92)

As far as what particular trim level? It's anyone's guess given how heavily modified it was for that show. Although, at least the wheels would indicate it's not an IROC.

As far as how much one would go for or how easy difficult one would be to obtain? A good start, would be paying a visit to one of the Camaro forums (i.e., 5th Gen.org) to get a better idea of that.

And as far as street legal issues? Light bar is most certainly universally frowned upon. With everything else, you probably want to check with your local gov't, and your own personal tolerance for fiberglass. :D

I've just checked here in Italy, a 1987 sells for a whopping €15,900 price tag :wtf

Ah, yes! In Europe etc. cars like Cameros can be worth a ton of money. Some can be a lot more than that. I think sometimes too the Japanese collect older cars, and will pay a small fortune for them.

The rims suggest late 80's to 92, the last year for 3rd Gens. 3rd gens are broken down into two tiers. The first, early 80's has a less aggressive front end. The 2nd tier has the front end you saw in that clip. There where also different hoods over those years, like the IROC-Z hood. That car did have that hood.

Hope this helps.

Oh, this is a newer picture of my 67. Since a car thread must have pics in it.

I thought the IROC hood had louvers? The car in the vid doesn't. My guess is that it's at best a late 80's model Z28 (the wheels are the easiest indicator from the video).

That's a typo on my part. That is not an IROC hood in that clip.
