He sure as hell knows how to make you feel like you're in the film.
I credit that to his camera style. Like when me and my fiance went to see TF in IMAX and the regular theater, we walked out thinking we were actually in the movie.
Thanks MB!!

And that is why Bay should stick with the Transformers franchise. :D

I would also at some point see Bay do a full on superhero movie. Watching Armageddon yesterday that scene with the meteors destroying NY looked so cool I kept mentally putting in Superman catching debris and saving people but completely overwhelmed by the scale of the destruction. Yeah, I'm a huge DC comics fan and I think that DC should ditch Singer and get Bay to do Superman: Man Of Steel so we'll get Superman actually in full tilt battle mode.
Also, I would love to see Bay do something in an old sword and sandals type movie. I'm thinking Steve Reeves, Reg Park, Conan type action. His take on the old barbarian battle movie. When I read Howard's original Conan books and even the authors who come after I see a lot of Bay potential.

According to the Trans dvd, he's been offered alot of Superhero films, and isn't interested. As much as i wished Superman would of been great with Singer at the helm, it was not great by any means, passable, but VERY flawed. I'm not even a big fan of the first 2, i like them alright, but i'm not all geeked out over them. I absolutely refuse to see Supes 3,4. X1, X2, yes! hardcore geekage!! Same with Batman, Batman Returns & Begins, YES! The rest not so much. It seems Superhero films are never meant to go past 2 installments, after that they stall out and die. Maybe WHEN Singer does Superman Man of Steel <he's signed to do it already> he'll remember to umm....derrr..PUT ACTION IN IT.
I can see Bay doing a Conan type of film, that would be good, as long as it's not straight CGI like 300. I swear i was the only person that wasn't orgasmic over that boring ass movie. *sigh*

I sincerely hope he doesn't get to the third movie and jump ship for another franchise like *cough* Bryan Singer *cough*.

But then I'm not afraid of another Singer-like action with Bay due to the above forementioned comments. :D

I was not specifically pointing to Superman when I mentioned superheroes. I think Bay would be great in the genre though. If you've read any Punisher or Daredevil you know Bay would be great for them.
There's also a smaller book I really like, it's called Powers by Bendis. It's about cops working in a city inhabited by superheros in a world where superheros and vigilantism is a federal offense. The book follows two cops, one an ex superhero who lost his powers but still wants to uphold the law and his parter a woman who's a pretty complex character too.
It's got great action scenes, great stories and amazing dialog. Imagine cops investigating cases having to do with Powers, where you have to prosecute people who use powers for good or bad and doing what you used to do.

Sounds like a more adult version of the Incredibles.
Not to insult that book by comparing it to the Incredibles, but that's what I thought of when you mentioned that. :)

Ya I think all of Bays movies are the shit!!! In my mind he hasnt done a bad movie to date. Its just to bad that there isnt more Bay to go around because I can think of some other movies I would like him to do. I know other directors are doing these movies but I like how bay does movies. Anyway these are the movies I would like him to do......The Halo movie....Gears of War....GI.Joe and Godzilla would be cool as a Bay film!!!

FYI - Singer was told he couldn't do X3, Warners offered him Supes, which he wanted to do long before X1, so he "jumped ship" but didn't actually, Fox HATED him, they hated the movies and they finally got the control away from him.

Wow, i hate video game movies. HATE. I hope Bay never sinks that low, even thou i'm sure he could give us a cool visual ride with them.

No, Singer was out of the picture long before Matthew Vaughn was rumored or Ratner took over. Tom Rothman <i believe> was anti-Singer since part 1. It's a miracle we got Singer to do X2 <the greatest superhero film we're likely to ever get, btw>.

Wow, you think that was the worst remake ever? I believe it was the one with Jeff Bridges and Jessica Tandy was the one that takes the cake.
Ah, well, to each his own I suppose.
Haven't seen Planet of the Apes (so not what I expected Tim Burton to do), and Godzilla....*shiver* Don't get me started.
Back on topic yes.....Bay does rule!!! Anyone seen the little easter egg on the TF double disk dvd about the Baybot? Too funny!

See, i can't stand the films becuase i had very high expectations for KK and Planet. I'm a nut for the original Planet <thou i refuse to watch the sequels> and AT THAT TIME i was a Burtonaholic. Wow. Horrible. I will give the film credit for getting me to finally pick up the Pierre Boulle novel. The novel is the only version i prefer at this point. I like the 70's film, but the book is all i'm interested in repeating.
Kong Kong, there's no defending it. Sorry to be a prick, but Jackson RUINED that film, and to think he had SO MUCH GOING FOR HIM post-LOTR.......wow......
yes i've seen all the Eggs on the Trans 2 disc, i liked the deleted scene with Bay's cameo egg the best

Bay is awesome. I'm very proud of thinking that, and wouldn't be afraid to admit it. Well, outside the IMDB-world Bay is usually the shit if you're not having artsy fartsy friends, so no big deal. It doesn't matter how cheesy some scenes, lines can be, or simplistic the plot is, Bay's movies always entertain. Always. Hell, even Pearl Harbor (his worst) are far from boring. And the action is awesome, his visual style is awesome, the music is awesome, and the characters are usually likeable. Far from developed or deep, but you like them for most of the time. I also appreciate that he is not going to sink down to Uwe Boll's level. There's a Youtube-video of him basically saying all who doesn't like him is an idiot and if you consider Catwoman is a better film than Bloodrayne you're a retard. Hilarious interview. Bay gets a lot of shit but he's not going to dwell on it. I think he's said "Well, some ones are going to like your film, and some ones will not. It's a simple as that".
