View Full Version : Does anyone know where to find Cybertronian Alphabet list?
I'm looking for a list of Cybertronian alphabet (the alphabet used in this movie).
I saw some on Ben Procter's website. Does anyone know where to find more? Books? Websites? Thanks in advance for any information. ;)
Personally I'm thinking about having glyphs as my second tattoo (first one was an Autobot insignia shown in my avatar).
I sketched a glyph seen on the right side of Optimus' face from the picture. Is this shape (shown below) correct?

You can probably write one of the guys on aintitcool, or search google images. I used to have the Alphabet of the original transformers logo/lettering.
BTW, can we get a pic of the tatoo?

Deciphering will be much easier if once we find which parts are proper nouns.
I suddenly came up with an idea that it would be nice to explain the impression of Transformers in Kanji (Japanese and Chinese characters).

Holy crap that's cool. It does have the little crown diadem on his head in the character. I like it! Any clue what the emblem on Primes helmet means? Is there a line in robot that refers to Prime to see if his name is on his helmet?

I've been thinking the emblem/pictogram on his face might be possibly his personal code for identifying in the case his body is found dismembered or heavily damaged. (several hundreds of years ago, Japanese firemen used to have ID tatoos for the same reason in case they're burnt to death)
Perhaps their alphabet could contain massive amount of compressed information within itself.
But who knows? Maybe ILM design team only knows. ;)
BTW I've got a tattoo of that pictogram. So, if I'll be found as an unidentified body, at least someone might see "Look, maybe she was a huge fan of Michael Bay's Transformers 2007 movie.." :D

the tatoo on the side of prime's head is a picture of the side of his head, trust me look at it for awhile you'll see what i mean.
and on the rack argument she does have a nice one but its not a good idea to point it out its rude in one way but also a compliment, but its better to keep that kind of compliment to one's self, and with permisson you can say it...usually.
to the lady its a compliment that men give guys(not me however) will do it impulsivly when they see something they like(i have better control in the impulse area...but i'm a guy so it sometimes slips out) don't be offended if a guy says sommething on your "rack" unless its in a rude way, or you are sensitive in that subject.

Wow.. too many people are too damn prude these days.. Sex is everywhere in the media.. but when someone makes a comment its all like.. ooh. better watch what you say blah blah blahbitty blahh.. Ok so thats an interesting tattoo.. and to have it on your breast there Sora is definitely room for comments like.. wow.. yippee.. yowzers and sorts of things like that.. personally.. Its no big deal cuz I'm old enough and seen enough breasts or racks or boobs or tits or whatever you want to call them to make a fuss about em. When you said you got tats, I figured you meant on like your shoulder blade, or your leg.. or even something like what girls are doing these days which is one of those big artsy things on their sides... which personally I think would hurt like a sonuvabiche. Back to the subject of this thread.. I was looking around, and apparently some people were able to translate Cybertronian text from the Beast Wars series because every symbol translated to an english letter, meaning there was 26 symbols/letters. With the 2007 movie, its as if its in the shape of Kanji/Kanzi.. however you say it... (I started learning Japanese a year ago, and never made it past the first 2 chapters.. so I'm stuck on Misu Sumisumu = Miss Smith and Sumamaisen.. Doozo Goriyuzima.. = I'm sorry, do take it easy on me... ) So even though theres a Klingon dictionary out translating all the Trekkie type language.. there has yet to be any type of book or website out that has fully translated the Cybertronian language. One person offered this website: http://doveart.150m.com/index.html but it doesn't seem like it really translates the letters. I noticed in the lines of text from the movie that you DID put up, that a lot of the symbols were similar. Like the squiggly T looking figure.. as well as the symbol that looks like the word OF. But none of the characters or phrases seem to correspond with one another as to how a word is put together.. So I don't know if the producers just threw a bunch of stuff together.. or if they actually had a dictionary of words produced that corresponds with language or not. Maybe this is something Bay or one of his film crew can answer.. whomever might have had the role of inserting that text.

Yes! I second that the sign looks like prime's profile. It was so hard to see those pictograms precisely in DVD though. (And thanks Smoke for the link to an interesting website.)
As for the "rack" talk.. I'm not offended at all. It was a foreign slang to me, so I was uncertain about how casual the word was.
And I wondered how to reply in an appropriate manner. (Because this is a thread in the film director's official forums.)
So, I must say sorry if my reply sounded rude or prude. In the first place, I might be to blame for posting the picture. (I thought it was just nothing more than a tattoo pic.)
To be honest, at first I was confused why he talked about a shelf or a ledge. :p

I have a decepticon tattoo so when i did these i did have that in mind, and purple is my second favorite color next to black, so yeah i guess you can say it is decepticon in nature.

I have a feeling that it is "just jumbled". Some symbols are used too frequently. But it still looks beautiful. :)
It's like getting random kanji tattoo. Sometimes it may look strange to native speakers. :p

These may be jumbled symbols, and as far as being represenative to any known cybertronian alphabit, its hard to say because all the symbols are surposedly older than the curent cybertronian language. To me it is meant to be a mystery, and I doubt any one will try to spoil the mystery by trying to decipher the glyphs. so maybe just to shoot the breeze one can say that one means creation of life, and the other inteligence, who knows. all i know is that when some one asks me what language that is I can say not of this world, and smile.

Oh my.. lol... I've heard of people who saw tats at a shop and didn't know what it said.. and as a prank someone was like.. oh it means peace and tranquility, and in all actuallity it meant something like Heil Hitler.. or or Ku Klux Klan members unite or "I'm a dumbass", something off the wall like that.

Ah that Andy Sakai story cracked me up! It seems to be an urban legend though, and I can't find any reputable news sources backing it up.
That said, there was a scene in a Takashi Miike film where this Japanese dude give a westerner a tattoo and he goes "this is the name of a famous Samurai" but it actually means kitchen. I can't recall what film it was though.
Sora, is that tattoo of yours a real one, or a temporary one?
A real one. So even if it means "biotch" or something in Cybertronian language, I can't erase it anymore. :o
