I noticed today a member join with no posts or anything (mimi) and before I could say welcome,i went to their page and saw BANNED under the name .with no posts?Is the site under fierce attack here?i dont know much about computer systems or even how to keep this damn msn messenger to stay off,is this a frequent problem?:confused:

more than you know man..many sites get people every day that are bots..and the thing is now the bots are almost AI in what they are talking about. Its like they will know what to post about and make an almost logical statement. but with links to webstuff in thier sigs. There almost human..

looooots of spam bots here, every now and then they just LOAD the misc. section with spam...so annoying

I know exacty what you are talking about i see it on my forum. I had one day that I had to ban over 20 people that showed up with bad usernames and funky emails. But there is one thing you can rest assure of only people can register the captia is a protected way of making sure of that. so when you see someone banned its a real person not a bot.

But there is one thing you can rest assure of only people can register the captia is a protected way of making sure of that. so when you see someone banned its a real person not a bot.

There are bots that can get around captchas (that's why some places make their captcha's so hard to solve that humans can't even solve them, like the cats one Rapidshare had for a while). The one here isn't bad (I got the color one wrong because my brain decided to quit working and the second one was fixed with a quick Google, as I didn't know the answer off the top of my head), even though I have my doubts as to it stopping bots (I really hate the picture ones, though...man I hate those and am glad this site didn't use that).
