....starts a thread?

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you the sorriest, most lame, I-am-a-loser-because-Bay-got-his-way-on-this-movie-and I can't-get-over it thread Transformers famdom has ever seen. (just so you get some back story, the starter of that thread wanted soundwave to be a floating boom box that would go from being 6 inches high to a whopping 40 feet).

Yes, there are people that are still bitter that this movie wasn't made to their specifications (G1 boxy designs and humanoid faces), and are seething at the insane success of this Michael Bay film.

P.S. I've been accussed of being of disrupting the peace and instigating by some of the members of DM.net, but notice I have not posted in that thread. They hang themselves.

two words Nelson...

Who Cares....:D

Could it have been more fan friendly? Sure it could of..but it had just enough to be where fans could enjoy it IF they did not stick the G1 idea so far up thier collective ass. But had enough originality to make it something more and ready for prime time!

I don't get this type of feedback at all. I was a huge fan of the cartoon when I was a kid. I am still a huge fan of the comics, which look exactly like the old cartoon. And I am now a huge fan of the new movie. All good art is good art, especially when it's different. I totally understand being attached to a concept or a story or a character (because I am) but being attached to a specific look or style? Come on!

Nelson, some people are like a rash: Scratch them, and they'll only spread. I learned that the hard way when I argued with guys like Dynamo and timshinn73, who not only admitted to being trolls, they actually took a great deal of personal pride in it. They baited me, and I got snared. Don't let the same happen to you again.

Wait...Are there...still people complaining about this?

A tape deck? Why would I (even though I grew up on transformers) as a movie goer, if not out right movie snob, want to see a stupid cassette player transform? Where is the logic in that?

Oh right, he's a Transformer geek, logic never applies. Or rational though.

Now, Soundwave as some kind of military sonic weapons platform or something, would be cool.

lmao, nelson. you know the funny thing is that i read your entire message before clicking the link to DM.net. Once I saw the words "floating tape deck", I knew who this thread was referring to. I still haven't had to click the link to tell you that it's another one of Hedgehog's tantrums.

How many times has he sworn off talking about tfs only to come back? is he still speaking with *thoughts*? :eyeroll:

Didn't he try this last year here with those annoying, biased polls?
Do we give a $#!t folks? No, but like a car wreck on the freeway, you can't help but to slow down and look. :)

The movie would not have worked if it followed by the G1 cartoon 100%. Some things work in a cartoon - this doesn't mean they will work in a movie. Watching a tape deck turn into a robot would be funny for about 5 seconds then it would suck the rest of the movie.

As for the faces/bodies, seeing half car things walking around would be unbearable to watch, and the facial changes make them seem more like robots but even more human-like.

All of the new changes, except maybe the cube idea... i just never really cared about the cube... were great. Its a freakin' cube!

honestly, who cares what people like this say...i have talked to no joke...like 20 of my close friends , plus like 30 random people...and i have not heard one person bash the movie. I'm sorry, but we all have to realize that the people on those boards are in the EXTREME, EXTREME, EXTREME minority. And personally, I say fuck em'.

Plus there are goign to be people who dont hate it, but will bash i. just to get a rise out of people. It';s the way the internet works.

I'm new here, but still...

I agree 100% with you. Original design just can't work in the movie, just some noticable details must be saved.

And yes, finally, those faces looked very human-like, alive, if you can say that despite their complicated technological design.

I'm not even going to bother reading through that thread. I really cannot understand why some people post there if they hated the film. It's the board of one of the producers of the film, you know, I wonder if Don is aware how many of his "fans" that hated the movie he produced. Of course, if you ask this to some of the biggest whiners they're going to defend it with "But the producer and the writers visits these boards and reads my posts! I've got a shot to change the outcome of movie 2, so they can make it right"

Hater or lover, the fact that they are making live-action films based on Transformers is the best thing that ever happened to their geeky lives. They might not admit it, but they are never going to stop discussing every little thing about it. They secretly love it. All of them. It doesn't matter if the next movie is so awful in their eyes, because they will continue talking about it. They are never going to ignore the new live-action franchise. It's the best thing that has happened to them.

The people in my production house even loved the movie. Even the guys with the really detailed opinions and put to much thought to indie movies loved it.
