"I'll run any police roadblock I have to if the sun is going down and I got a beautiful shot."
That has to be the best line in the world, ever, in a director's commentary. I heard that and then saw that he uses a Porsche Cayenne camera car (and not just the perfectly robust Cayenne S, but the one with 2 turbos just for good measure. And he still gets invited to all the Hollywood parties!) so I decided to find out whats what with this guy.

His grit meter, serious:campy ratio, comic reliefs, and color saturation are Always on the same settings. Which is marvelous, its just one day I hope to see a side of his versatility since he's pretty much perfected his 'mainstream intelligent action drama in the 0-99 demo' genre.

I'd love to see a Bay film with less slices. As Cuarón showed, a single-take 5 minute action scene with zero (visible) cuts can hold even a.d.d.'ers' and pimply teenagers' focus with equal tenure as mtv slice and dice editing yet be far more gripping.

Anyway, I thank this maverick for his great passion in never compromising his art for the sake of anything as trivial as political correctness. Although after BB2, perhaps in spite of the brilliant Reggie scene, do I detect a slight pumping of his PC brakes?

Yes, that line is so damn memorable.
