Unicron was a lame plot device in the animated movie in the 80s. He transformed into a planet. Yep. Big ol' planet. Anyway, if you're looking for strongest then you need a big guy, a combiner like Devastator, Superion, Defensor, Bruticus, etc. Also, you've got your Metroplex, Trypticon, and Omega Supreme.

Unicron is the strongest.

Of the combiners, Predaking was the strongest.

At the normal level Galvatron would be.

The most powerful ever made was Sunstorm.

Its just like super hero comics..its whover the writer puts as the strongest for the story he is telling.

But as far as TF go yea Unicron would be the "strongest" by sheer size.

Well of course he's strong, he's a PLANET. But considering that no other transformer would ever go toe-to-toe with a planet, its silly to argue that he's the strongest. You aren't going to get a downtown street brawl between Optimus and Unicron. All Unicron can do is float around or eat other planets, and you can't beat him by fighting, only by whipping out a magic gimmick like the Matrix. Lame.

I think it's a little abstract to call Unicron the strongest Transformer. His equal would be Primus from Tranformers-Energon would he not?

Depends on wether or not your consider Unicron a Transformer.

Sunstorm is actually the most powerful besides him.

The dinobots combined are more powerful than any of the decepticon combiners. See The Beast Within Comic.

Capable of lifting 40,000 pounds for his size was Huffer.

It all depends on if you mean Combiners, Unicron or just normal Transformers...

Per single, individual Transformer, I was under the impression that Grimlock had unparalleled strength (in battle). And that even Optimus Prime and Megatron were never willing to commit to a battle with him. (Dreamwave, Marvel and IDW Comics.)

As far as the comics, Sunstorm was the most powerful, it took almost all the Autobots to stand up to him.

Sunstorm was a freak of nature. He didn't start off powerful at all and some kind of weird nearly unexplainable ghostly thing happened to make him that powerful, I wouldn't count that.

He did start out that powerful, he was designed to be that powerful. He had Electrum Skin and a fusion core. He kicked Omega Supreme's ass on his own.

Sunstorm is a clone of Starscream created by Shockwave. The cloning process went wrong and he became to see himself as the Transformer messiah. It took an overwhelming force to take him down.

Now an interesting question would be, out of Unicron or Primus, who is stronger?

Prime

Well Primus and Unicron are brothers. One is sided with good the other evil. Primus also created the transformers race from his spark. Primus is actually cybertron in disquise. Hence the reason for unicron for being one of the moons. There is a full back story with these 2. I saw it somewhere.

Here is primus

Going by the Japanese series it was VictorySabre a combination of the reincarnated prime in the form of Star Sabre, and Gob Bomber as Victory Leo. I have a boxed Version of the toy on display with the missiles on the tree, but VictoryLeo honestly was the most Powerful.

umm he was mentioned erlier...and being a Sentinel he was limited in his power. Metroplex and or Fort Max would be parger stronger. Whole cities vs. a launching pad and rocket.

Sunstorm yea I would guess he was the strongest for the purpose of what he is.
What about the fallen?

Fort max was the biggest/strongest....and he was an original character......not some silly repaint of starscream that's been done 6 times over. Hell, Starscream became a supreme being himself in comics ....but that was short lived

Sunstorm was a comic book character....never had any real airtime, where as Fortmax was in both cartoons and comics.......And I hate the way dreamwave sold off a white clone of prime as G1 Ultra Magnus.....terrible, terrible mistake!
I had stopped buying transformer's comix long before that though....The artwork was good, but I thought the story's felt short from book to book.
I do have Pat Lee and the Crew's Autographs for The release of all the variants of issue 1 however. That was an exciting time, when Transformers was reborn in the Comics:)

You're kidding right........Every time he farted, he literally exploded

Trypticon would pulverize Omega supreme

OmegaSupreme

G1 In robot mode, Omega Supreme has incredible strength, able to shatter a mountainside with a single blow and lift 300,000 tons with his clawed arm. In place of his left hand, he is armed with a plasma blaster that can pulverize steel, supplemented with an additional laser cannon mounted on the rear of his head with a range of fifty miles. Intensely durable, his armoured hide is resistant to all energy beam and non-nuclear explosive attacks

Dreamwave Productions

In Dreamwave Productions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dreamwave_Productions)’ continuation of the Generation One universe, Omega’s origins were similar to the animated series; he was one of the Omega Sentinels, the Dreamwave universe’s version of the Guardian Robots, which guarded the city of Iacon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iacon) on Cybertron (and were rendered in the Dark Guardian/Mechabot 1 color scheme). After the disappearance of Optimus Prime and Megatron’s forces, Omega Supreme and Jetfire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jetfire) were dispatched to locate them, following a homing beacon towards Earth.
After a lengthy trip in suspended animation, their craft was attacked by Scourge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scourge_%28Transformers%29), and crashed in the Arctic, where Jetfire was frozen in an avalanche, and Omega remained in stasis in the crashed ship.
Attacked by his own deranged clone, Sunstorm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunstorm_%28Transformers%29), Starscream recovered Jetfire and thawed him out in order to recruit his and the Autobots’ help, only to then turn on them. Jetfire proceeded to reactivate Omega Supreme, who bested a weakened Sunstorm in combat and then tried to apprehend Starscream, but the Decepticon freed Sunstorm from the power-dampening siphon that was inhibiting him, and Omega was forced to return to battling him. Apparently defeating him again, Omega moved in for a closer inspection and retracted his visor to see clearer, but was then blasted directly in the face by Sunstorm and collapsed. Though removed from the battle, Omega survived, watched over by Cliffjumper as he recovered. He was later seen aiding in the construction of Autobot City.
Dreamwave’s bankruptcy and subsequent closure meant that no further stories of his were told.
could add more but like Always depends on who is telling story but Omega Supreme was no wussy like ya think and was in G1 one of the toughest bots

yes, he was strong, and feared by decepticons........but along came Trypticon, and the Original Scorponok. They would have munched his metal hide.

...If you want to take things to extremes........unicron was the most powerful. Ultra magnus was lucky he didn't let the Matrix smash on the Floor. They all would have been Fucked without it...

I loved the Japanese series it's too bad we didn't get them here. From the Masterforce series Overlord was a bad a$$. I actually have him and he is huge. He is almost 13inches tall and very heavy. He was the only double powermaster.
