To me, it just seems that with all the hype on the internet and in forums, exactly like these, that promote the thought and suspense of movies, that this movie has the potential to be at least 3 hours long. I know there is no deffinate time table for it yet, but to me there is to much to be left out to allow it to go below that time.

First-off, there is the aspect of Sam being in college, and with Mikela still at his side,*sighs* i mean this has to be like the first 10-20 minutes of the film cause it includes the Pretender "alice"

Secondly there is the Idea of his parents being in Paris, which to me seems like that could be another 10 minutes then forewards in the movie to them, and the fact that in the trailer there are transformers that land in Paris.

Thirdly, there is the International Scene's that may or may not include Sam and company, i mean is there a definate Plot release yet like a teaser?!?

then there is the Egypt idea that supposdly they all turn up there because of the D-cons Plans, which is just gonna "be a huge droid death-match"-(TF1)

I mean i have read harry potter and come to agree with the idea of the 7th book being to parts cause you cant leave anything out of it but to me it seems as the same could apply to this movie. What i mean to say is that from what i have been reading is that you cannot leave much out of this movie. The plot seems to deeply rooted and to me the movie could end up being rushed however im sure its gonna be freaking amazing.

anyways just wanted anyones thoughts on the matter...

My bad- just pointing out that there may be enough good stuff to make a directors cut...

If WATCHMEN can be 163 minutes then TRANSFORMERS can (must) be 180 minutes!

Surely longer that the first one, I think. 2,30h, or more.

About the begining, we thought (on a French forum) that the movie would begin upon a huge battle - maybe after the Protoforms land on.

There's a director's cut version? :p I hope we gonna have it here...

2:20 - 2:30 works for me... movie ettiqutte issues start to arise when movies go longer than that.....and I hate it when people get up to go to the bathroom!!!!

:D Yeah!
Longuer (longer?) cinemas don't want to much to diffuse the movie because they can't have a lot of sessions (is it the good word?)

That should be a good runningtime. 4 hours and 20 minutes for the TRANSFORMERS fans worldwide and a shorter version for the general public.

2:30-3 hours is a good area for the movie. If you go into 3, then we be toward World's End-ish. 4 hours? As much as it could be plausible, that would be too damn long.

Well, in an interview Mr.Bay said that he achieved a 2hours 20minutes runtime but he was still editing, that's not the final theatrical cut which means that there are more either finalized or ready to be finalized scenes to be added.
What I hope is that Mr.Bay will create two cuts of the movie, one theatrical and an extended release/director's cut for DVD/Blu-Ray disc release later on. I'd like to see the theatrical cut being 155-165minutes long and then a 180-185minutes extended DVD/Blu-Ray disc release.
As long as he managed to create very good scenes to be added he should do so but for the theatrical release the movie just can't be too long even if it's the best movie ever people in a theater still rarely manage to watch 3 hours movies, however for the DVD/Blu-Ray disc release a 3hours+ extended cut would actually boost sales quite a bit, just look at Lord Of The Rings for example...
