That was GREAT!
Pamela Voorhees! There were so many great tips to the previous films! the shed, the mask, the sleeping bag of DEATH!, the gratuitous nudity (my male friend who attended with me thanks you, anyway) the Jarvis-like hunter kid. (I want that motorcycle!) We've seen all the previous F13s so it was fun to consider this one as one big excellent homage to the entire franchise. This Jason was closest to the one in the 3rd, the truest Jason! The best! I'm glad you made him into a crazy killer and not a zombie/monster. The physical fights between Jason and various kids were really, really well-done. Very believable movement... and YET! He moved like a ghost! THAT WAS PERFECT! (Jason on the roof: "Run, hell! He can FLY!" We dug it.) The movie was super-funny, as well (ZOMG the shed!). A great time was had by all! Thank you!
It wasn't a sell-out but the crowd really dug it and NO ONE took off after the TF Trailer (which got bigger cheers than Watchmen!). I looked around, expecting an exodus. Didn't happen.
More, please! :D

I thought the stash and the creepy elderly locals were brilliant bits of plot. I FULLY believe that teenagers would hike directly onto a serial killer's property looking for a field of enormous weed plants. The creepy old people were clearly aware of Jason, and even resigned to his presence. He really does just want to be left alone. They were a smart contrast to the foolish, self-absorbed young people.

Gonna see this one on sunday, is it as good as the recent remakes to "Hills Have Eyes", "Dawn of the Dead" or "The Ring"?

That it wasn't used enough in this latest movie is really one of my only complaints.

Horror Sober here! And I must say, I had pretty high expectations for this film. They were exceeded.
Everything about the film was great IMO. Jason is finally back where he belongs, and he's finally back to the way he's supposed to be. The kids were more likable than usual for an F13 film, and the plot was an excellent way to be a solid F13 film, but be different than the others. I'm especially glad to see Jason as someone much more intelligent and cunning than we're used to. The sleeping bag death was great, as were all the other kills, but that one really stood out for me.
All in all, it's probably the best "remake" from PD yet, and any biased drunx out there against remakes can kiss my royal American ass, and I'll be more than glad to take their DVD copy of "The Thing" off their hands.
F13 = win. Infact, I might see it again.

Loved it! it's the best PD remake yet, although i believe their "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" was decent but didn't had any of the sheer excellence or bloodlessness that made the original so great and a masterpiece.
This is one of the best horror remakes in recent memory with "Dawn of the Dead", "The Hills Have Eyes" and "The Ring". Although Rob Zombie's attempt at "Halloween" isn't half bad but this movie blows that one away.

I didn't see that remake. I heard about the reworking of his origin "of course he's evil, his parents are rotten rednecks" and was immediately turned off. The Shape is supposed to be PURE!! There is no reason or excuse for the Shape!

Well it's not too bad but Michael Mcdowell as Dr. Loomis is awesome.
Who thinks this is as good as the remakes to "The Thing", "The Fly", "Cat People", "Dawn of the Dead", "Night of the Living Dead", "Hills Have Eyes" and "The Ring"?

I think Texas Chainsaw was a better movie....F13 was good (ESPECIALLY the first 20 minutes), but the ending kinda sucked. It was probably the worst Jason death ever.

Well what did you think of the other remakes i mentioned?
I did thoguht this was a nice entry of the franchise that put it back on it's feet much like "Batman Begins" and "Casino Royale" did.
I hope Bay and company doesn't redo "A Nightmare on Elm Street", if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Well ok, but no one can play Freddy better then Robert Englund.
Well ok, but no one can play Freddy better then Robert Englund.
No argument here. I just hope they make Freddy scary again. They haven't made a scary Elmstreet movie since part 5 (Some may debate that).

My faves of the Elm Street series is parts 1, 3, 4, Freddy's Dead and Freddy Vs. Jason.
What does everyone think of the remakes to "The Fly", "The Blob", "The Thing", "Dawn of the Dead", "Night of the Living Dead 1990", "Hills Have Eyes", "The Ring", "Cat People" and Peter Jackson's "King Kong"?

This was more a reboot/sequel than an actual remake but a solid entry of the series, i hope for the sequel to happen. It was even better than Elm Street 2010.
