I think so, ranks up there with "Armageddon" and "The Rock". I'm a huge TF fan since i was 4 in 1985 and this movie really surpassed my expectations.

Well, I haven't seen his others, except Pearl Harbor (which ranks the lowest), but it certainly is the biggest movie he's made.

I have to say that Transformers grew on me.

I had The Rock as one of my top 5 action movies of all time and #1 favorite Michael Bay film but when I really think about it.....its gotta be Transformers because I didn't watch The Rock 9 times in the theater but I did with Transformers.

I can put the Blu-ray on for Transformers and watch it. And then watch it again the next day and I won't get bored.

For The Rock, I would give it a little more time in between viewings.

Transformers should be Bay's masterpiece as it is also his highest grossing and most talked about movie.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be his successor to Transformers

It would make a kickass franchise all the way. Who has been a fan of TFs since the 80's like me?

TF1? No. But TF2 definitely could be his masterpiece.
Just concentrate on as much Bay stuff as possible (since almost all his films still had too little Bay stuff in it).

Is it his masterpeice? I hope not. I really hope none of TF is his masterpeice.

I would hope as a director he grows and fine tunes his directing to make a better movie each time.

AND

I hope that something original would be his masterpeice. I think he has many years to come to make one. Putting it on TF and a 2nd part that we have not seen yet as something masterful is foolish.

And to all those putting dollars signs to being a good movie...:lol

TF was a good summer blockbuster movie. Bay delivered that to a "T". The best Sci Fi movie ever? not even close.

Its kinda funny this makes me think of people who were asked "who is the best president of the U.S." and the winner was Ronald Regan...Then JFK and a few others and Honest Abe. People forget and put popular with best. The two get mixed up and you get this best with grossing dollars. Or popular cus it had cool CGI and that happened to come out during the summer.

and as far as a fan from the 80's? Try the late 70's when we got to play with the Diaclone's that the TF were based off of we got from Mr. Big's Toyland, Nelson might of heard of that place if he grew up in Boston. When Force Five was on... ;)
Thats how long I been a fan of transforming robots.

Give Bay more credit than TF. I think his masterpeice is still a bit away.

Yeah this is the same.
I've seen most of his box office films, bad boys, transformers, Armageddon, transformers prevailing above the rest.

Pearl Harbor is something I haven't seen, but thats down to what people have said about it. I will probably see it though, just for the sake of being a Bay fan

We wont know what Bay's "Masterpiece" is until he says, "I'm done directing, filming, and everything there is to do with movies -- aka 'retired'"

lets see what he does next :p (and the one after that)

Exactly. Only history will decide this.

I still say Armageddon is his best work, followed by Pearl Harbor. I never understood the hate for that film. These are the two of his films that have the most heart. They soar above everything else he's done. I'd actually go as far as saying that Pearl is probably his best, and Armageddon simply being my favorite.
