View Full Version : Jetfire - alt mode ideas?

If the sequel brought in Jetfire, to give the Autobots a bit of air support and a nemesis for Decepticon survivor Starscream, what Earth vehicle form should he take on? (should we assume that Bay would go with an American military plane?)
How about:
SR-71 Blackbird, for size and speed?
A-10 Thunderbolt (Warthog), for offensive power?
F-117 Nighthawk, for uber-cool stealth, speed, and power? (and bigger than Starscream's F-22!)
Other ideas?

Wasn't Jetfire a big plane? He looked pretty big compared to the other jets..
why not make him the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner?
Or maybe even better, the new Airbus A380 Carrier... then he can transport the autobots to whereever they want to go.... Speed would be the problem, size wouldn't :)

May be a problem that it is a USAF C-17, and only the desepticons used army vehicles as alt modes :confused:

I would very much like to see Jetfire but if Starscream stays as the F-22 any of the plains you picked up top are not going to be any of a match for the F-22..... There are no other U.S. plains to date that could go heads up with the F-22. Now off the top of my head the Sukhoi SU-30(Flanker) which I think is a shit hot looking plain or the New Eurofighter Typhoon might be a close match. Now I dont know if Bay would be able to use eather of these plains being there not of the U.S. military but it would be cool:cool:

I think the Blackbird is the right plane. Technically, it's recon, not combat, so it's a less "violent" machine. More importantly, she's fast (not one shot down, ever!). The Raptor is only known to do Mach 2.4, but the Blackbird hits 3.3. So the Blackbird would make Jetfire totally uncatchable (or out-runnable).
And of course, she's wicked gorgeous:

Dont get me wrong I like the black Bird too and it would be a good fit for Jetfire because I think he should be an Autobot spy working in the Desepticon ranks as Starscreams right hand man all the while gathering info for the Autobots. But I really dont know if The military still uses the Black Bird do thay? Ill have to ask my brother, hes in the Air Force.

No, sadly enough, the poor Blackbird has been retired, several times actually. But the fleet is still out there in mothballs and museums. Maybe Jetfire will crashland on Earth near an Aerospace museum and scan the Blackbird, not realizing it's out of date.

Ya that would be really cool. I know Bay has good ties with the U.S. military but I hope not all the transformers that end up in the 2nd movie are U.S. military types. It would be cool to see something from another country.
Ya know I was thinking the same thing only I was thinking the robots that have yet to crach land on earth could crash in a place that's holding car show. I was thinking they could crash after hours when no ones around and transform into some cool concept car. I thought this when I saw the pictuers from the I think it was the Tokyo concept car show. Or they could land on some secret test site and transform into some (fictional or real) military vehicle. I don't know?

The SR-71 is a beautiful jet. I can only remember 2 transformers that were SR-71's. Headmasters Snap Dragon and Masterforce series Over Lord. The SR is a great choice for Jetfire!

hey guys just read onlne that jetfire is a decpepticon and is the sr-71 blackbird.now if he is a spy in enenmy ranks for autobots cool, but if he is a fully fledged decpeticon i will be seriously p*****d jetfire is my fave transformer of them all. still have the original transformer of him and i got it about20 yeras ago.:wtf

actually i was watching something the other day .... cant member where on the sat i was watchin it but ... they said 2 sr-71's were recomissioned after 911 dunno if they still are but it is possible ...... and i would liek to see jetfire as an SU-47 it could go toe to toe with a raptor .....

As long as Jetfire isn't a fighter jet I'm cool cause if he was a fighter jet it would go against his character, after all he is a scientist.
