Recently I was informed that the Japanese movie "Departures/Okuribito" which was starred/produced by my close family friend Masahiro Motoki won the grand prize of Montreal World Film Festival Awards and "The most popular international film" prize of China Golden Rooster Awards.
Also it will be submitted for the 81st Academy Awards for "the best foreign language film".

It is the story about a young undertaker. I hope it'll be a nominee/the winner. And I'd be very very happy if it could be released in American theaters too. :)

Wow! I'm sure it will get released in American theaters in time for the Oscars...but not anytime close. I would think anyways.

That's very cool to hear, Sora! Good luck to your friend!
