okay, anyone out there own the TF BD? On disc 2, through all the special features, there is alot of pixelation and a green line that keeps flickering on the screen. I've called Philips thinking it was the TV, then i called Sony after Philips told me it was the PS3, not the tv. I tried to contact Dreamworks about replacing the copy for me, but they don't have a # to call for support. I exchanged the BD at Best Buy, assuming they'd shut it down like they do the other times i've tried to replace DVD's. They exchanged it no questions asked, and now the SAME THING is happening at the exact same times. ARG!!!!! I google'd "Transformers Blu-Ray Defects" all i could find was something about the BD-Live downloads.........sorry for the long story, but has anyone had any non-BD-Live defects??

ps. i've spent hours and hours watching other BD's and DVD's with no defects at all.

How many times did you replace the Blu Ray disc? I have the HD-DVD version I got last October, and I had no problem with it when I got it at Wal Mart. It might be some of the disc had a bad pressing. Usually, Blu Ray shouldn't do that since it has that protective hard coating on the disc that is durable towards scratching.

With any Blu-Ray discs I get, it usually comes with a card on the inside regarding the quality is guaranteed. Did Dreamworks happen to have one of those in the claimshell? Or try to check out the home video branch of the Dreamworks site. I hope this helps you out. There is nothing like dropping 25-30 dollars for a defective disc.

No problems to report here Chem. (meant to reply to this earlier)

I'm too am running a PS3, but to a Panasonic Plasma. I have no such problems arise. Both the menu screen and featurettes show up fine.

I replaced the disc once, same exact prob. Then i rented it, same exact prob. My friend who was with me thinks its a combination of the disc and the ps3, or just the ps3. If it happens with my new Iron Man br then i'm going to exchange the PS3. I did NOT get this excited about Blu-Ray to get a defective disc, i won't stand for it.

The dreamworks site had NO info about Tech-Support, or anything else for that matter.

Yea, i literally laughed when i heard PS3 was the best of the best in terms of BR players. Apparently it still is, which i hate because i don't do video games, so i hated owning a PS3. But i get a kick out of the "......you.....don't own any videogames?" comments people tend to give when i tell em about my new BR player. I hope it was just the TF BR disc 2 that was funky. My Rock, TMNT, Batman Gotham Knight and Enter The Dragon BR's work flawlessly, so i tend to think its just something about the TF BR and the PS3.

Raven keeps telling me to get one instead of a stand-alone. (For the record, I do trust him with all my electronic information.)

But what games are good on it? Or just get it for the blu ray capability?

I'm soooo confused!!!

Very weird. And frustrating I can imagine.

My friend's getting that for the Wii.

I'm sure it is awesome on the PS3....now that you mention it. :P

Soooo it'll be a PS3 then! I'm tired of Halo 3 anyways...hehe.

Dayum.

In fact, I don't really get into gaming a lot. I always preferred it on the computer.

It all began with the regular XBox and my boyfriend's brothers...who got their dad into it...then me (still not sure how that happened...) and it took off from there. *sigh*

Okay i've decided that it's time to exchange the PS3 for another, as the Iron Man BR is doing the exact same thing, green line down the screen.

Anyone think it's the TV's fault? or the Monster HD cables? Philips and Sony told me it's not the TV, it may be the PS3......but since i own no games Sony told me they couldn't be sure its the PS3's fault at all. Sucks to not be a gamer, i guess.

No problems on Iron Man either. I also don't use the PS3 for games either.

I've been looking up the green line issue, and alot of the troubleshooting issues seem to point to one of two possible causes. The cables or the resolution settings.

- Cable may not be able to handle the 1080p bandwidth.

- Resolution/video output settings differ from PS3 and the TV. (PS3 is trying to show 1080p while TV is set to lower)

Unless tech support has already walked you through both those troubleshooting issues, I'd try swapping cables and looking at your PS3's native resolution settings as well as your TV's.

That, or some of the more knowledgeable members of this board can correct me on any of this with their own input.

One more thing (and it may be a trivial thing): Have you upgraded to the latest firmware (via PS3's system update)?

Well, the monster cable supports 1080p and my friend that helped me set the tv up made the tv 1080p in the settings. The PS3 tech support had me turn off the automatic 24hz or something? I'm not at home so i can't remember what it was called.

I know the tv is 1080p, 120h, 29000:1 Dynmaic Contrast Ratio, etc. So i know the tv IS top of the line, the Monster is to, but all signs seem to point to the PS3. I'm at my parents know searching for the lost PS3 Warranty <of course it's lost, right?>. R-Type, where did you find the PS3 warranty? I mean what color is it, size, etc.

Glad to hear someone else on this planet uses the Ps3 for BR, not games. Hehe.

That's another thing, i can't seem to figure out how to connect the Ps3 to the net. I have a dsl modem, can i even connect with that? I swear i am the Murphy's Law poster boy.

I don't think it cam with a warranty card. As mine didn't come with one, all I seem to have is the warranty terms and liability on pg. 14 of the gray safety and support guide that came in the box.

Yeah, he had you turn that off to see if your TV is able to display 1080p @ 24hz. (mine is set to Automatic)

See if changing your BD/DVD output format from "Automatic" to "RGB" does anything to remedy the issue. (the system setting directly above the 24hz option)

As far as the DSL thing, you're gonna need a wireless router. If it is hooked up to your home computer, just hook the DSL modem to the router>Router to Computer > Set up PS3 to receive new wireless signal from router.

If it is close enough to the router to begin with you can just hook up the PS3 to one of the (multiple) ports in the router.

Thanks for the wealth of information! No, really, thank you. I can't get anyone else to seem to figure it out with me. Okay, then i'll go ahead and stop looking for a warranty card. Silly me, of course Sony won't let you return it. Bastards. Makes me wanna just pawn the Ps3 and get a good-ol'-fashion REAL blu-ray player, rid myself of this "next-gen" video game system nonsense!

Hehe, that makes 3 of us <me, you, R-Type> that own it solely for the BR player! WOOHOO! Down with video games!

Well, it's the TF br AND my Iron Man, so i'm sure it's either the PS3 <which i think is the case> or the Monster cables. I plan on looking into this issue further later on today

Gamer huh? Sorry to hear....of those 3 systems the closest i've gotten to wanting one <for the games> is the Wii. I do love Wii sports, to bad Nintendo dropped the ball and didn't give us a Wii that was blu-ray compatible, or hell, just dvd compatible

Sadly, if this doesn't fix it, i've decided to trade it in at a pawn shop or at Movie Trading Company and use the cash to buy a real <i.e. non "next-gen" sysyem> BR player. Sadly, i'm sure the issue will be the Monster cables or something non-PS3 related. But trading it in is looking like a real option at this point. Oi vey.
