Wow, I really thought they were going to mess this one up, but this so far, is nothing but good news, I'm still holding my breath until they announce who's going to be directing this, in a dream world, they would bring in the original japanese team to at least do the mecha design and choreograph the action. So, I was reading the aintitcool talkback on this article, and it looks like they won't be able to use stuff from the actual Macross part from Robotech, I really hope this isnt the case, Macross is hands down the best part of it.

Harmony Gold has right to distribute Macross, and copyrighted the name, but they arent the owners of the content, be it characters, design work, etc. So unless an angreement gets done between the different companies, this "Robotech" movie is going to be nothing but the name.
