what do they call that unfinished black?

what do they call that unfinished black?Matte (or Flat) Black. Generally, it can be either a primer sealer or a single-stage paint (meaning no clear coat finish, just shoot and paint).

The drawback when you have it be just primer, is that it's not a true sealed finish that is as weather resistant.

it may not be weather resistant, but as long as it has a good base coat of red oxide primer underneath, it wont rust through.

Besides, any stone chip or scratch can be touched up with flat black spray paint without major prep work.............and you never have to wax it....:D

....btw, nice find r-type!

What's the point of a car you can't drive anywhere but say an airport runway.
What's the clearance on that? 1 inch? Looks like it would bottom out on anything other than a perfectly flat surface.

And its cool. I knew of a guy around here in ky that dropped his Impala so hard it stood on the body. There was no clearance at all. The sparks were something to see when he scrapped it. Its in a low rider video.
