Remember that scene where all the AWACs comminucations operators were calling in the air strike to "send in the hogs" ? In the commentary, Michael Bay said that those were actual airmen doing a mock air strike call-in. I guess considering they were using real equipment, they had to turn off the computer terminal during the filming of that scene so as not to interrupt actual communication lines.
So in doing so, perhaps they failed to realize that it would look funny on screen because although the operators look very professional and convincing, all the computer screens are off. ALL OF THEM. Its pitch black. Look at the screens, looks like its a training op.
Anyways, I'm sure some other noticed it before but its just something neat to point out.
Its kind of like in Bad Boys , the car explodes but you can still see the cable that holds the car parts in place so that it doesn't fling all over the place.

Some monitors don't film well, The may have shown up weird so bay opted to turn them off. Or maybe they are too dim t show up. In any case, I don't think it's important to see what is on the screens... also, it could have been a security thing.
And I think the Cables in Bad Boys 2 were suppose to be filmed, and were not a movie trick.

Its ok that you want to defend the movies. I love them both.
But
a) screens don't film too well but so why do other screens film well? And they could've used CG to put something on those screens. Even if it was a black screen with plain green text, if Crimson Tide could do it, I don't see why they couldn't do it 12 years later. I'm sure there is a good explanation for it but I'm sure that the explanation is not "because its not important to show whats on the screen". Because I thought Bay was going for realism. If they optioned to turn them off was because they don't show up well or it can't be lit well, then man, we still gotta long way to go in terms of advancing today's film equipment.
and
b) I wasn't talking about Bad Boys 2 so I don't know where you got the idea which made you believe that cables were "supposed" to be filmed. I was referring to Bad Boys 1 after the Ether blew up the muscle car, you can clearly see a cable tied to the hood of the car which Michael Bay points out, in his commentary, that it was a cable that is used to tie down the car to prevent it from causing any danger to the surrounding area. This is a common technique and back in 1993, they didn't have the ability to wipe out things like that with CG or the budget couldn't cover it. Just look at Predator 2, a movie directed the late 80s, you'll see LOTS of cables trying down car parts. They're super noticeable.
Anyways, its just something that I thought would be interesting to point out and wanted to see if anyone else noticed it. I'm not complaining. It doesn't make the movie inferior because of this but and movies do come with screwups that end up in the final cut. Its a normal thing. Every director tells themselves after watching their own film that they would back in time and redo certain parts of the film.

Other obvious errors in the movie which could have been avoided:
1) Mikaela walks away from Bumblebee/Sam - leaves the door open. Sam starts the car, and when he goes to close the hood - the door is closed.
2) Sams ancestor is said to be named "Archibald" Witwicky. When frenzy is scanning the files on Air Force One, where it says "1st on the scene" or something like that, it says "Amundsen Witwicky"
I noticed a few more in addition to the monitors looking like they were all off, but cant recall them at the moment.

Not to mention that the camera men's reflections or shadows can be plainly seen throughout the movie....:)
