But how much for a ride? Because that's all I want, thanks! Only fools actually *buy* boats. Keeping them and maintaining them is a huuuuge pain in the ass. Just thinking about the work on a boat that big makes my my body ache. I love to sail, though. I'll be disappearing for a while to crew down in the Caribbean after I finish my Masters degree.

But if you can afford one, then you can afford to hire others to take care of it for you. That's just me thinking how that sort of thing works... could be wrong. Finish Masters, yippee! And congratulations, just in case I don't get a chance to say so later before you dash off for the Caribbean.
True, true. Still money down the drain in my opinion, though. It's allll about the charter. I think if I had a lot of money I'd spend it all on all real estate, business ventures and charity foundations.

And my boyfriend's parents have a houseboat and a bass boat. They don't get out on it much, so they're considering selling it. Why have it when you can't enjoy it? Waste of money to me.

Why yes, kinda, not really good at it. I am good with the kayak, though, anybody can pretty much kayak.
Can't canoe or kayak, but I can sit upfront (right side) of a white water raft with six others and paddle on command, turn the raft around fast to go fetch another member from the raft who got pitched out, as well as get slammed up against boulders and live to tell the tale (i.e., follow orders well). Sad, but true. Can't kayak or canoe.

So I am building a 1/400 model aircraft carrier in my spare time :D I have not too much use for it, so it will either be sold for alot of $, or it will I'll donate it to the Smithsonian or somethin...
