Yup, that's right. Heath Ledger's Joker is already catching Oscar buzz. All of us are drooling at what we have seen. The L.A. Times and other entertainment mediums are also calling the performance amazing. Early screenings have prompted people to ask themselves "Could this be?". I surely hope so.

the need to calm the hype machine down a bit. nice exploitation of a death for a movie though. I am sure Christopher Nolan is sincere but, the studio is goign to hype this to no end

do you guys think he;s getting oscar buzz because he's dead. i have a feeling if he was alive, there would probably be no oscar buzz. Though as we saw with Transformers...Oscars are a crock of shit anyways ;)

Him being dead aside, the actual performance from what we have seen looks fucking awesome. You just know he has given it his all and gone straight into the character. I wouldn't be surprised if he got oscars if he was still alive, let alone dead.

Have you seen the IMAX trailer? It's six minutes of nothing but the brilliance of the bank heist the Joker pulls off! It's AMAZING!!!!

If Ledger gets one then they should give one to Bale as well. Both of them are amazing actors and are the same in my book.
The only thing I've seen of this movie is from the teaser trailer and official trailer. I haven't seen the IMAX one, I don't want to be spoiled.

Okay, I've been thinking about this and maybe...just maybe he'll win the Oscar.
Why, do you ask?
Look at this year's Oscar nominees/winners. Take note of Javier Bardem, best supporting actor winner this year for his portrayal as a mass-murdering, psycho killer dude in "No Country for Old Men."
Daniel Day Lewis won best actor for "There Will be Blood." He played somewhat of a cooky, psycho role.
From this year's Oscars, we see that the Academy likes:
f'ing polar bears (green screen actually)
and
psycho mass murdering killers.

Got an annoying phone call. I was freaking out cuz I couldn't find out what the dude was talking about, then I realized he was talking about ANOTHER paper!!!
Really annoyed me.
And then a bitchy woman called, wanting to talk to editor (who wasn't in yet at the time...) and my asst. editor was out of the office, and there was no way in hell I was talking to her. Everyone up front was wigging out about her bitchiness.
Stupid people.

I have a lot of patience and rarely get excited about anything, I forgot what the symptom is called. Its where you hardly show any kind of nervous emotion or worry about things. Ataraxia I think. It helps me lie to some ones face. I think I'd be a good actor or politician, lol.
