They havent shown a lot of it yet, but from the little bits shown, you can see the intricate level of detail that's going into the animation, as years pass by more and more CGI is being implemented into anime, which isnt bad, but what I really like, is that they are perfecting the way to blend CGI into 2D animation, bringing the quality of it to a whole new level, it's been a few years since Innoncence, let's see what they manage to pull off this time around. I'm really looking forward to it.

CGI is the natural progression of things. Anime, live action, whatever the case may be. And I'm fine with it. So many people bitch about it though. Saying crap like "directors rely to heavily on CGI...blah blah blah" They sound like my grandparents who complain about how shitty music has become.
It's nice to see Warner Brothers getting into the anime game lately. The more that can come state side the better. Japan has so far exceeded American in 2d animation.
P.S.
Sora...I demand a translation of this trailer! haha I of course only kid :p
Yeah, I was also glad to see a big name studio attached, especially after reading about the decline of anime sales in the american market, the most notably affected distributors, geneon and ADV. (I'm still pissed about not having Black Lagoon: second barrage released).
I think Japan had always been ahead of america when it comes to 2D animation, the biggest difference being that of budget, which makes it hard to distinguish which was actually superior, Japanese studios put out top notch products at a fraction of the budget of their American counter-parts, since from inception they are released to much more limited market/audience.
Going back to 2d, this is really what I love about the Japanese, they don't use CGI as a way to completely replace a traditional method, but to enhance it, not to say I dont like or enjoy fully CGI animated features, which I do,(I can't wait for the new Appleseed) but I rather have the same power and techniques used to push 2D animation to it's limits, but that's just personal taste.

The reason sales are down is because these anime companies refuse to lower their prices and they have zero advertisement. $70-80 for a series. Thats ridiculous. You find a season of a TV show for $40. No reason anime shouldn't be the same way. These distributors have themselves to blame really.
