Quite difficult =)
I voted for Armageddon.

Transformers. It had everything I've ever wanted from a movie.
Not because it was Transformers, but because it high giant robots fighting. I've been a fan of giant robots for YEARS! I'm a giant anime fan. The action in this, and everything was just absolutely what I wanted to see. Minus any small complaints of course =P

Transformers. Yup. Hands down.
Then Armaggeddon. I love Bruce Willis.

Transformers. This film made me a Transformers devotee. I like also The Rock, though.

Although, I think Bad Boys 2 is a better made film, My vote has to be Transformers. Giant robots FTW.

Impossible to choose, except for Bad Boys and The Rock (my least favourites), the best is usually the last seen...

A topic we never had so far!
Well, immediately after seeing Transformers I would say Transformers.
But overall the best Bay movie is obviously The Rock, it's a "all time classic".
My favourite ones are Armageddon and Transformers. And Bad Boys 2. And The Rock. Damn.

Yea, obviously it's the Rock indeed. How can anyone say Pearl Harbor or Armageddon are better? Maybe they don't like racial humor so BB1,2 are out, but no. the Rock and BB2 are easily the best Bay's done. My favs list is fact, sorry.

The Rock.

They're all good, and there are some similarities between all the movies....remember the scene in badboys where smith and lawrence are seen rising up to a standing position in slow-mo........looked cool....Bay did the same in TF with Duhamel and gibson, and I believe in "the Rock" as well...I don't remember the other ones....just something I noticed:D
THE ROCK, no question about it.
I have very mixed feelings about TRANSFORMERS. There are some scenes I just can't stand to watch; on the other hand, some of the best stuff Michael's ever done in his career can be found in TRANSFORMERS. I don't know whether to rank it second or third.

Then, you might like the page I'm doing now. It's a story of a girl and her dog, and her truck. A dodge Powerwagon to be exact.
but yeah, R-type's favorite Bay movie is the Rock . I never saw that coming :p

i know during the final battle, the camera spins around OpPrime as he stands up, i don't remember the scene were Duhmel and Gibson stand up though. And the scene with the "spinning camera hero shot" in the Rock is when Nic Cage stands up after he wrecks the Ferrari
helicopters flying in front of sunsets
and from IMDB - (2001) His last 3 films all share: a) two male leads at odds with another; b) a cataclysmic event as the narrative's fulcrumic point; c) the film's lead female character has i) been a long-haired brunette, and ii) watched the film's climax from a control room

Mikaela was certainly *not* in a control room! Neither was Jordan Two Delta... oh, critics and their stereotypes... Bay can be anything he wants and I'm very glad for it. I know you all think the Diana rumor is crazy... it *is* crazy, really, but I dunno. It could be interesting...

Neither was Jordan Two Delta... oh, critics and their stereotypes.ummmmmm......you'll notice it says (2001) in front of the IMDB post i made, indicating that BB2, Isle, TF, has NOT been made, so IMDB is definitely right. I don't see how this is critics being stereotypical even if you had been right.....? It's just a websites correct observations about his trademarks shots.
I remember seeing the helicopter in front of the sunset in First Blood also, what other non-Bay films has this shot been used in? It's been around forever, was it in Top Gun? i don't think it was

I voted Armageddeon. That story plus with the release of Deep Impact that same summer gave it a huge stand out. I watched and sil watch that movie all the time. Transformers is great, but there is just something magical about Armageddon from leaving on a jet plane to big bear and Rock Hound. Those characters made that movie. Transformers lacked those type of people who we love.
Max the mama's boy
Big Bear
Rock Hound "I just wanted to feel the power between my legs"; slim pickens line, How old are you again? and all the way to the Wiley Coyote thrust move line... damn that was great.
Oh and none of them want to pay taxes again....ever!
The Cosmonaut... American Components, Russian Components ALL MADE IN TAIWAN!!!! THIS IS HOW WE FIX THING ON RUSSIAN SPACE STATION!!!!!
Damn come on dudes you are telling me that film wasn't a true popcorn great kick ass ride. Even lil richard the dog... dude it was great.
Who can forget the psych tests LOL THAT WAS FUNNY SHIT...and OH I'm just here to drill....SO AM I!:D (pulls out anal probe) That whole sequence still leaves me rolling.

Thanks. I'll go to find a DVD. :)
The tale about the relationship between a human and a robot I like most is definitely Osamu Tezuka's Phoenix: Resurrection/Furure (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robita). It's a tragic story, though.

The need for people to un-naturally pull punches in dialog and action mainly. Directors start self censoring for PG13 and that is a bad bad thing. It makes me cringe when you have a PG movie where it seems like someone is going to say fuck and they rewrite it PG3 like to not offend.
Like in Bad Boys 2, some of the dialog I found just utterly hillarious. And the whole scene in the video shop where they are talking about what Will Smith did to Martin Lawrence's ass - no way there in hell that would make it into a self censored PG 13 movie. Not to mention the carnage. Like the minefield at the end was just fucking awesome. If Bad Boys 2 had have been PG13 there is no way it would be in my top thirty even. Too much would have had to have been held back.
And on the PG13/Michael Bay discussion, this is simply something I can not forgive Michael Bay for:
http://www.usaweekend.com/05_issues/050717/050717scarlett_johansson.html
Fuck PG13. The world has been deprived of a topless Scarlett Johansen purely due to the EVIL PG13... :P

Growing up in Australia, in the 80;s movies were so censored on TV. I still recall seeing Beverly hills cop and laughing at how much was stripped. When Judge Reinhold goes "Your just a foul mouthed cop from out of town" (or something) watching the TV version you are thinking "Wha? That is a bit uncalled for. He hasn't even said 'Poo'... "

Yea, no one remembers seeing any Indiana Jones film, Close Encounters, Munich.......ok i'll be nice now :) But you are right, Lucas only has Star Wars to hold on to. Indiana Jones is a product of Spielberg's design, with original story ideas credited to Lucas. As long as Lucas is restrained in a cage his "creative vision" will be safely locked away from the set.

i think the "best technically concieved" award goes to Trans. easily. No one has made a film with such photo-real CGI and blended it so flawlessly in with the practical-effects on screen. Don't get me wrong, The Rock rules all, and definitley blows Armag. outta the water!

I LOVE BAD BOYS II. It was so in my face and so Hard R, I wish he did Die Hard. I miss these kinds of adreneline rush R rated movies, now every movie is PG-13. I can't wait for the critics to piss off Michael Bay again so he can Unleash BAD BOYS III. I like Transformers but pushing a pretty old buddy cop element and making it an AWESOME SUMMER MOVIE is what I appreciated. Good stuff.

I hated that movie with a passion. If you want to see a good movie about a ship being sunk.. go watch Poseidon.. That'll get your adrenaline running. I've seen all of Bay's movies to date. It's hard to say which one was the best. Of course I'm gonna say I love Transformers over all of them.. If I was to put them in order it'd probably be something like this:
1. Transformers
2. The Island
3. The Rock
4. Bad Boys 2
5. Bad Boys
6. Armageddon

nononono, I know Bay did not do Titanic, but that movie has always been my top 1, but I like "THe island" so much that now I don't know which one is my top 1. maybe both of them :D but whatever, both films are different and they're my favorite of it's genre
And yes I have seen poseidon (The remake with josh lucas and kurt russel) and I absolutely love that film it's also one of my favorites cuz I love ships. the movie is really entertaining I like it a lot I own the DVD. I wish there was more bonus features on the DVD as I wish there was on "the island" DVD.

I have to revise my list to show Pearl Harbor as being my number 2 pick and all the others following as listed. (as far as Michael Bay movies go)

No, the list is accurate without PH, and it goes without saying that that list is your favorite as far as Michael Bay movies go.........

Then... I don't follow you.. because.. Pearl Harbor is a Bay movie.. so Pearl Harbor should be included with the list I provided.

I like Transformers for what it was and I hope the second film is interesting --maybe a WAR above Earth's Atmosphere--a love all the characters even John Torturro's FBI character. I must say I love the humor and the action, I love the music and the exploitation of military arsenals. I love Transformers. Hey, I could find something awesome through every Bay film WITH THE EXCEPTION of Bad Bays. Sorry, it's a crappy film.

i love all the characters ESPECIALLY John Torturro's character, more so than Duhamel or Tyreses' characters. No wait, i HATED Anthony Anderson being in the film. Least funny comedic actor EVER.

I think I answered The Rock earlier in this thread (I voted for it anyway) but now I have to say my definitive answer is The Rock AND Armageddon. I just can't choose between them. I love them both.
