Ok, my world hasn't changed....but holy shit! Holy mother fucking shit nuggets!! O_O

This game is sex on a disc. It turned my brain into a fuckin pool of liquid in my skull.

I dare say this is probably the best game I have ever played.

I hate to sound all nerdy and corny...but games like this are the reason I am a gamer. Games that push the medium forward, and set new standards and benchmarks to be reached by other developers.

The writing, and the dialog are easily some of the best in a game, ever. I was constantly blown away by how good the writing was. It's not the quality you expect in games. For the most part when you play a game you forgive the writing, and let the game play speak for the game. Well, not only is combat in this sci-fi action RPG great but the dialog system and writing is phenomenal.

I wont go into explaining the dialog system, because if you have any interest or knowledge of this game, thats why you clicked on this review, or you can look up videos. But holy shit, sometimes you would get into 10 minute plus conversations and they kept your interest the entire time. The writing was that good, the story was that amazing.

I suggest doing as many side missions as you can, and if you do you'll get about 25 hours of game play out of this game. By the end you'll want more. And you can get more by going back and playing the entire game as an asshole instead of a nice guy. Which is awesome. The replay value for this game is HUGE. I spent 25 hours on this game and then started a whole new game the next day. I wanted to be back in the world that badly.

The game presents you with choices you have to make...and they are tough choices that took me a while to decide on.

My only complaint are some technical problems. The 2 biggest being loads times throughout and LOTS of texture pop-in's. But when a game pushes next gen graphics like this on a console, you can completly forgive it.

Go buy this game NOW!

I wish this came out on PS3. I recently sold my 360 because I was on the verge of ordering a coffin for it and blu-ray got a hold on me.

Exclusives are fucking bullshit. Back in the day there was exclusives a lot more but thats because it was either disc or cartridge. Now its all disc for about the last decade and they're still fucking us. They're slowly dieing off which is good.

why were you on the verge of ordering a coffin for the 360?

And exclusives have ALWAYS been a part of gaming. It has nothing to do with cartridges though. Exclusives remain for a couple of reasons.

1.) Sony studios produces the game so its of course exclusive to their system. Or Nintendo's development house, or Microsoft Game Studios.

2.) These studios (or publishers) pay a company for an exclusive game. They give them money up front to either be a timed exclusive or full on exclusive. The development house then looks at it's options and makes their decision.

3.) The other reason are business relationships. Some development houses have remained loyal for years and years due to a business relationship. It's them not wanting to fuck over a publisher who has been good to them.

The biggest being numbers 1 and 2. Which is the case for Mass Effect, which was published by Microsoft Game Studios.

Number 3 is happening less often. A lot of studios are releasing multi platform these days because it's more economically feasible for them to do it. Games cost a lot more then they used to, and exclusivity doesn't always recoup those costs.

My 360 started skipping and freezing up then it wouldn't read some game disc. Its just a piece of shit unreliable machine. I got tired of worrying about the RROD. I had an early 2nd wave launch system and the warranty was over with so I traded everything in for the PS3. Some schmuck has it now and it probably died on him, lol.

I know about exclusives. I've been playing video games since Atari.

Look at it this way...exclusives in the long run are good for the consumer. Exclusives make sure that all consoles out remain healthy. And the more competition the better things are for us.

Devastator, you must've bought an early model 360...well I'm guessing at least..I'm sure they've improved

I haven't been in tune with the modding lately, but I know the original ps1 had several different configurations of chipboards to improve the system. Same case different guts...until they went to smaller units. The same was true for ps2 units......but that was just sony trying to prevent easy modchips to play burnt games

In any case...first generation models of anything...game consoles or cars, etc..will usually have a lot of bugs in them.

they haven't improved. They do have a 3 year warranty though. It sucks, but what are you going to do. They are just not rolling out better chip sets.
