So, "The Island" was Michael's last movie before the "Transformers" saga. Since "Pain and Gain" is more like "The Island" (in a sense that it's not part of a huge franchise and it's a standalone movie) I have to ask those who remember correctly - when was "The Island"s first trailer/teaser released?

Was it at the end of 2004, and if the answer is "yes" is it possible to see a "Pain and Gain" teaser/trailer this year, this fall...or this summer maybe (unlikely, I know)? Basically, I need someone with a "trailer knowledge".

The good news is that Variety reported a few weeks ago that Steve Jablonksy is already working on the score for the movie. So there's some music, the film itself is in post right now....basically the materials for a good teaser/trailer are all in place.

Question is "when"?

Damn, for a second I thought they released the teaser. Very misleading title.

The first picture from The Island was released on December 21 2005 and the first trailer was released on March 18 2006. I don't know if ther was a teaser in between. But the Island was released in July while I believe P&G is supposed to come out in the first part of 2013 so I don't know if the comparison is appropriate.

Considering that the movie has already finished filming it's normal to expect a teaser by the end of the year although this would be more than a year before the release. I'm still puzzled why P&G will have a year and a half betweent the end of filming and the release date. That's a pretty big period for post production even for a huge blockbusters.

I added "..." after "teaser/trailer" for a reason. If the trailer was here, the title would've been "first trailer is here".

Wait, wait. Now that is misleading. "The Island" came out in the summer of 2005. Why are you talking about 2006? Where is March 18, 2006 coming from? By that point, Michael was already working on the first "Transformers".

I wouldn't call it misleading, it's a typo. The dates are correct I mistyped the years. First picture December 2004 and first trailer March 2005.

When you fo the math that actually gives you a pretty good idea when, if everything's going according to plan, we'll see the first "Pain and Gain" trailer - the end of this year.

But hey, maybe I'm wrong and it'll come out sooner. I certainly hope so.

If that's the case a trailer by the end of 2012 is very probable. And I won't be surprised if we get a teaser in September or October this year. I think the movie will have a big viral campaigne although it's considered a low budget film.

ComingSoon attended a special presentation of Paramount's upcoming productions and they showed the trailer of P&G.

Here's their short description.

Beware, spoilers ahead!

Paramount busted out the trailer for the April 26, 2013 release, Pain & Gain (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=84863), the Michael Bay film that shows what happens when a group of bodybuilders dabble in some kidnapping, extortion and murder. The trailer opens with Mark Wahlberg doing a sit-up exercise on a wall with his legs wrapped around the rung of a ladder. We get dialogue including, "I'm hot, I'm big," over the footage until the Miami Dade Police roll in, ruining his workout. Wahlberg makes a run for it, sometimes in slow motion, while the cops burst out of their vehicle and chase him on foot. We also get a number of close-ups of Wahlberg's face mid-action, as though he has a camera strapped to his chest while doing his sit-ups and evading the cops. In voiceover, Wahlberg announces, "My name is Daniel Lugo and I believe in fitness," before the trailer launches into a few short snippets of Dwayne Johnson and a quick shot of Rebel Wilson amongst other supporting players. The trailer primarily highlights the action, but the vibrant colors and eccentric nature of Wahlberg's behavior put Pain & Gain (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=84863)'s humorous tone in the forefront, too.

Good stuff, good stuff.

Sounds more like a teaser trailer, but it doesn't really matter. Looking forward to it.

If it exists, how long do you think it will be until we actually get to see it?

The P&G trailer has been rated. It's 2:30 min. long. Actually there are two of them. I guess they still have to decide which one to use. :)

this is good, I love that site - makes anticipation less mysterious. Can't wait to see Michael's smaller scale film!

Well it looks like we're only hours away from the trailer. In an interview with comingsoon Mark Wahlberg asked the guy who talked with him if he has seen the P&G trailer. The answer was "yes, can't wait for this one". So the trailer is out there somewhere. My guess - we'll see it today. :)

Watch at 3:30.
