Obviously there were some interesting things happening behind the TF4 announcement.

From Deadline:

So why did Paramount make this stealth Michael Bay-Transformers 4 and 2-picture deal announcement at 7:15 PM Los Angeles time? I’ve learned it’s because Lorenzo di Bonaventura has a big mouth. One of the producers along with Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto and Ian Bryce, Di Bonaventura today spilled the beans without warning anybody. In fact the studio was still polishing its press statement for tomorrow.

The result is that Paramount is furious at di Bonaventura, and Michael Bay “went crazy” on him as well, an insider tells me. “Lorenzo was at a toy fair and someone sticks a camera in his face. So Lorenzo goes on this 60-second tirade speaking on behalf of everyone — the studio, Michael Bay — and it’s inappropriate.” The result is that MTV got a nice video exclusive of Di Bonaventura saying Bay will direct the next Transformers and calling it a “reboot” which is kind of odd but also intriguing.
Anyway the producer is in the dog house at Paramount (just like he put himself in the dog house at Warner Bros for shooting off his mouth that time, too). I can’t wait to see how Paramount punishes him. Maybe by borrowing a page from former Paramount chief Michael Eisner who one day got mad at Larry Gordon and threw him off the lot by emptying the producer’s offices onto the sidewalks. ”The locks haven’t been changed on Lorenzo’s offices — yet…” a studio bigwig tells me.

Maybe the Paramount folks are not very happy with him revealing that info to MTV, but I doubt things are that serious. We have to keep in mind that this article is by Nikki "sometimes I like to blow things outta proportion by quoting fake sources" Finke. Her awful reputation speaks for itself.

And she's never been a huge fan of di Bonaventura. She was blasting him when he was at Warner Brothers and judging by her comment "...I can’t wait to see how Paramount punishes him.", she's apparently still on the di Bonaventura hate-train.

I hope Michael jumps in to clear things up.

:lmao Very well said.

Yep, these were my hopes too. That's why I posted this in a separate thread.

And to top things off, the most important thing about this article is that..........it does not change anything at all

I don't think Lorenzo is in trouble guys because all the news came out in public at the same time more or less, they probably had this interview with MTV a few days ago maybe and told them they can only release this interview on this day.. and i'm pretty sure that Michael, Ian and Lorenzo remember those who write negative about them or exaggerate certain things in an interview.
I couldn't find anything over the top or negative in this interview so i guess the info is pretty correct and sincere.. i also don't think MTV can permit any mistakes with releasing this interview in future things they can add speculations and stuff just to poke Michael Bay a little... and maybe Lorenzo made a deal with MTV (Nikki) that they can have the scoop first but that they have to release it in a correct way, i don't know..

Dude what are you talking about??? Calm down....

I don't believe that he would be in that much trouble but I have no idea how they handle these type of situations at Paramount.

I'm not talking about Lorenzo di Bonaventura. I'm talking about the release date. I'm angry it's being released in 2014. It's three years after TF3 instead of the original two year separation...I mean, I understand Michael is working on Pain and Gain and all, but still it is very disappointing...
And also, a reboot? I definetely don't want a reboot. There is no such thing as "sort of rebooting" because it's either a sequel or it isn't.

Well this thread is about di Bonaventura so let's keep it like that. There's already threads about TF4...
