Transformers clocks in at roughly 2 hours and 20 minutes.
When I read one of the first few early reviews, the reviewer mentioned that the last 40 minutes was just insane robot action in the city battle.
So then I always went with that number. It automatically got embedded in my head that the final battle was 40 minutes starting from the time they arrive in the city to when Megatron dies.
40 minutes is the running time of the bombing in Pearl Harbor. So after watching TF, I was thinking that it couldn't possibly be 40 minutes of battle throughout the city. 30 minutes is more accurate.
But then I saw some clips on youtube(how the heck are these clips still on youtube????) and then did the math.
The final battle scene which officially starts off at the Autobots doing the U turn drift on the freeway after bumping into BB and Sector 7 and then ends with Megatron's death is officially only 23 minutes.
I can't believe how short that is when you really think about it.
And then I watched some more clips, the Blackout intro is only really just 4 minutes and that starts off with his first arrival scene right to the final shot of him blowing up the landing strip.
And the Skorponok scene is only 6 minutes starting off him knocking over telephone tower.
Its amazing how short these action sequences really are but when you watch them, so much can happen in so little time.
In the sequel, I'd like to see some more serious Robot Rumble. I don't mind the human scenes but when it comes to action, its gotta be Robot vs Robot. The only real Robot battle we saw was Bonecrusher vs Prime. That was just pure balls out Robot madness. We need more of that.
